- 135 - There is no benefit from the knowledge and ignorance of the philosophy. ॥ 14 ॥ The distractions from spiritual conduct, such as attachment to wealth, desire for women, and shouting during worship, do not permit proper reception of honors and rewards. ॥ 15 ॥ The implications of the Vedas are final. ॥ 16 ॥ The first (ten) shall be appropriately classified into twenty-one. ॥ 17 ॥ The rites of purification related to the observances are classified as follows: the conduct with respect to not eating, moderation, avoidance of personal use, renunciation of pleasures, solitary resting positions, and physical austerities. ॥ 18 ॥ Acts of atonement, humility, proper conduct, self-study, renunciation, contemplation, and others are supplementary. ॥ 19 ॥ Beginning with nine, fourteen, and twenty-five divisions in sequence is necessary from the preliminary (prāradhyāna). ॥ 21 ॥ Accomplishments of both criticism and atonement must be established with discernment. ॥ 22 ॥ Knowledge, perception, and conduct are the means of purification. ॥ 23 ॥ Learnings from teachers, scholars, ascetics, and communes should be communicated clearly and beneficially. ॥ 24 ॥ Do not overlook the teachings of scriptures. ॥ 25 ॥ External and internal education. ॥ 26 ॥
