Advise to a Monkey
ઉત્તરસંડામાં ઝાડ પર વાંસને જોઇને શ્રીમદ્દ બોલ્યા, મહાત્મા, પરિગ્રહ રહિત છો અને અપ્રતિબંધ સ્થળ ભોગવો છો, પણ યાદ રાખો કે આમ માત્ર નથી. અનંતગ સુધી જીવ એકાકી વિચરતા નિજ છંદે ચાલી પરિશ્રમ કરે તો પણ પોતાથી જ્ઞાન પામે નહિ. જ્ઞાનીની આજ્ઞાનો આરાધક અંતમુર્હુતમાં વળજ્ઞાન પામે, આમ પરમાર્થની
ગંભીર વાત કહેતા શ્રીમદ્ગ.
In Uttarsanda, seeing a monkey perched on a tree, Shrimadji says "O! Noble one, you are indeed devoid of possessive desires and enjoy an entanglement free life; but please remember that is not the path to liberation". Moral of Shrimadji's observation is that though a soul can wander alone, free of entanglements and strive hard on its own, it is unlikely to attain the Right knowledge. A follower of a True Guru can attain Enlightenment even within 48 minutes.
