Elaboration There are said to be four bhaavas (states) of each of these nine sentiments—sthayi-bhaava (emotion), sancharibhaava (transitional state or moods), vibhaava (apparent cause), anubhaava (gesture). fundamentals, etc. contemplation, etc. (10) Vatsal vatsalya joy, pride, frenzy, seeing a child, etc. affectionate glance, (affection) etc.
