In brief the meaning of the words Sanjna and others is as under(1) Sanjna-Jnan (knowledge). (2) Pratijna-Definite approach based on basic element (Tattva). (3) Drishti-The thought direction. (4) Ruchi-Thought based on faith.
(5) Hetu-Style based on logic in order to prove a basic view point (Tattva).
(6) Upadesh-Moral words providing guidance to the people. (7) Sankalp-Belief (8) Tula-Test of their faith.
(9-10) Maan and Praman–Faith in view point decided on the basis of direct proof and other logic.
(11) Samavasaran-Accepted principle.
२४३. तए णं केसी कुमारसमणे पएसिं रायं एवं वयासी-पएसी ! अम्हं समणाणं णिगंथाणं एसा सण्णा जाव एस समोसरणे, जहा अण्णो जीवो अण्णं सरीरं, णो तं जीवो तं सरीरं।
२४३. प्रदेशी राजा के प्रत्युत्तर में केशीकुमार श्रमण ने कहा- “हे प्रदेशी ! हम श्रमण निर्ग्रन्थों की ऐसी संज्ञा यावत् समोसरण-सिद्धान्त है कि जीव भिन्न-पृथक् है और शरीर भिन्न है, परन्तु जो जीव है वही शरीर है, ऐसी हमारी धारणा नहीं है।"
243. In reply to king Pradeshi, Keshi Kumar Shraman said—“O Pradeshi ! It is the Sanjna (knowledge) upto Samavasaran (accepted principle) of we, the Nirgranths that Jiva and Shareer (soul and body) are different. It is not our belief that the Jiva (soul) is also the Shareer (body).
विवेचन-इस सूत्र मे प्रदेशी राजा अपनी मान्यता बताता है कि मै यह मानता हूँ-'जीव और शरीर एक ही है', ऐसा नहीं है कि जीव अन्य है, शरीर अन्य है। शरीर समाप्त होते ही जीव भी नष्ट हो जाता है। र प्राचीन दार्शनिक ग्रन्थो में इस मान्यता को 'तज्जीव-ततू शरीर वाद' कहा है। महापडित इन्द्रभूति
