(१) सूर्याभ वर्णन (1) DESCRIPTION OF SURYABH DEV
१. तेणं कालेणं, तेणं समएणं आमलकप्पा नामं नयरी होत्था, रिद्धस्थिमिय-समिद्धार जाव-पासादीया, दरिसणिज्जा, अभिरूवा, पडिरूवा।
१. उस काल (चौथे आरे में) उस समय में-(जब भगवान महावीर विद्यमान थे) आमलकप्पा नाम की नगरी थी। जो ऋद्ध-धन-जन आदि से सम्पन्न परिपूर्ण, स्तिमित-स्व-चक्र, पर-चक्र आदि के भय से मुक्त, समृद्ध-धन-धान्य, व्यापार आदि से वैभवशालिनी यावत् प्रासादिक-चित्त को प्रसन्न करने वाली, दर्शनीय-देखने योग्य, अभिरूप-प्रतिरूप-मनोहर और आँखों व मन को सुन्दर रमणीय लगती थी।
1. At that time, during that period (the fourth part of the timecycle, when Bhagavan Mahavir was present), there was a city ** named Aamal-kappa. It was prosperous populous and free from internal or external disturbances. It was flourishing in trade and commerce. It was grand, worth-seeing and had many attractive features.
२. तीसे णं आमलकप्पाए नयरीए बहिया उत्तर-पुरत्थिमे दिसीभाए अंबसालवणे नाम चेइए होत्था, चिरातीते जाव-पडिरूवे। ___२. उस आमलकप्पा नगरी के बाहर उत्तर-पूर्व दिग्भाग-(ईशानकोण) में अबसालवन
नामक चैत्य था, जो बहुत प्राचीन यावत् सुन्दर था। ___ 2. At the outskirts of that Aamal-kappa city, in the north-east, there was Ambsalvan Chaitya. It was very ancient and beautiful.se
३. असोयवरपायवे-पुढविसिलापट्टय वत्तब्बया उववाइयगमेणं नेया। ___ ३. वहाँ श्रेष्ठ अशोक वृक्ष के पादमूल में (भूमि से लगा हुआ) एक विशाल पृथ्वीशिलापट्ट र था, जिसका वर्णन औपपातिकसूत्रगत वर्णन के अनुसार जानना चाहिए।
3. There, at the foot of a grand Ashok tree was a huge slab of * stone. Its description may be considered to be similar to the one is mentioned in Aupapatik Sutra.
