THE DURATION ६१ : (१) उग्गहे इक्कसमइए, (२) अंतोमुहुत्तिआ ईहा, (३) अंतोमुहुत्तिए अवाए, ॐ (४) धारणा संखेज वा कालं, असंखेज्जं वा कालं। - अर्थ-(१) अवग्रह का काल परिमाण केवल एक समय होता है। (२) ईहा का काल है परिमाण अन्तमुहूर्त होता है। (३) अवाय का काल परिमाण अन्तर्मुहूर्त होता है।
(४) धारणा का काल परिमाण संख्यात काल अथवा असंख्यात काल दोनों होता है। $ 61. (1) The duration of avagrah is only one samaya. (2) The si
duration of iha is antarmuhurt (less than 48 minutes). (3) The duration of avaya is antarmuhurt (less than 48 minutes).
(4) The duration of dharana is both countable and uncountable şi period of time.
विवेचन-ज्ञान की प्रथम अवस्था अवग्रह है। अवग्रह मात्र एक समय का होता है फिर ईहा में ॐ बदल जाता है। ईहा अन्तर्मुहूर्त तक रहती है और तब अवाय में विकसित हो जाती है। अवाय + भी अन्तर्मुहूर्त तक रहता है। इसके पश्चात् भी यदि उपयोग उसी में लगा रहे तो वह अवाय
नहीं, अविच्युत्ति धारणा कहलाता है। धारणा जीव की आयु के अनुसार संख्यात अथवा के असंख्यात काल तक होती है। अर्थात् किसी संज्ञी जीव की आयु असंख्यात काल हो तो धारणा
असंख्यात काल तक रहती है। अविच्युति धारणा वासना को दृढ़ करती है। __Elaboration-The first level of knowledge (acquiring of -) ist 45 avagrah. It lasts only for one samaya and then turns into iha. The
duration of iha is antarmuhurt (less than 48 minutes) after which it 55 develops into avaya which also lasts for antarmuhurt (less than 48 minutes). Now if attention or indulgence in it continues it is called "
avichyuti dharana (irreversible reception) and not avaya. Depending Si on the age of the being dharana can last for countable or uncountable \ period of time. In other words if the life span of a sentient being is 41 countable years the duration of dharana is also countable years. This
avichyuti dharana strengthens vasana.
