Abhaya Kumar picked up a handful of cow-dung lying nearby and L y carefully dropped it on the ring visible in the well. A few hours later
when the lump of cow-dung in the well dried, he filled the well with 45 water with the help of the king's men. As the water level rose to the $ brim of the well the dung-lump floated on the surface. Abhaya Kumar leaned and lifted the dung-heap. He broke the lump and released the
ring. After washing it well he handed over the ring to the king's men. 4 When the king heard this news he was astonished. He at once sent
his emissary to bring Abhaya Kumar and when he came the king 4
warmly greeted him and asked—“Son ! Who are you and where from 45 do you come ?”
With due respect Abhaya Kumar replied—“Lord ! I am your son." # King Shrenik was taken aback at this answer from Abhaya Kumar.
When he looked at wide eyed Shrenik, his father, he narrated in it y details the story of his life from his birth to his arriving at Rajagriha. 41
King Shrenik was exhilarated with joy. He got up from his throne and 55 embraced his able son. After this the father and the son brought queen Nanda into the palace with due celebrations and pomp and show. On the way the citizens of Rajagriha extended an
unprecedented welcome to the royal family. Impressed by Abhaya 40 4 Kumar's autpattikı buddhi, very soon the king honoured him with $1 the post of prime minister. 3 ५. पट-दो राहगीर संयोगवश एक सरोवर पर एक ही समय में पहुंचे। उनमें से एक जो
समृद्धिवान लगता था उसने वहुमूल्य वस्त्र पहन रखे थे और उसके कंधे पर एक मूल्यवान ऊनी
कंबल था। दूसरा सामान्य वस्त्र पहने था और उसके कंधे पर मोटी सूती चद्दर थी। सरोवर तट 卐 पर दोनों ने अपने कपड़े उतारे और स्नान करने लगे। सामान्य कपड़े पहना व्यक्ति झट से स्नान के ॐ कर निकल आया, जल्दी-जल्दी अपने कपड़े और दूसरे व्यक्ति का बहुमूल्य ऊनी कंबल उठाकर ।
अपने कंधे पर डाल लिया। शालीन व्यक्ति ने जब यह देखा तो उसने पुकारकर कहा-“ओ । है मेरा कंबल कहाँ लिए जा रहे हो?" धूर्त ने कोई उत्तर नहीं दिया, धीरे-धीरे चलता ही रहा। ॥ + शालीन व्यक्ति दौडकर आया, झट से अपने कपड़े पहने और दौड़कर धूर्त को पकड़ लिया। धूर्त
यह कहकर झगडने लगा कि कंबल उसी का है। अंततः दोनों न्यायालय में गए और 卐 अपनी-अपनी बात कहकर न्यायाधीश से न्याय करने का अनुरोध किया।
पहले तो न्यायाधीश किंकर्तव्यविमूढ़ हो गया। कंवल पर ऐसा कोई चिह्न नहीं था जिससे ॐ उसके स्वामी का पता चल सकता। फिर कुछ सोचकर न्यायाधीश ने दो कंधियाँ मँगवाई और 5
दोनों व्यक्तियों से भली प्रकार बाल सँवारने को कहा। उसके बाद न्यायाधीश ने कंघियाँ अपने श्री नन्दीसूत्र
