Chaitya in Rajagriha. At that time the goddess named Rupa was sitting on a throne named Rupak in the Viman named Rupakavatansak in the capital city named Rupananda. All other details are the same as in the case of Goddess Kali. The difference is that in the story of her earlier incarnation the name of the Chaitya was Purnabhadra outside Champa city, the name of the citizen was Rupak, the name of his wife was Rupakshri and that of his daughter was Rupa. After her death she reincarnated as a principal queen of Bhutanand, an Indra in the north direction. Her life-span is a little less than one Palyopam.
This is the meaning of the first chapter.
सूत्र ६३ : एवं सुरूया वि, रूयंसा वि, रूयगावई वि, रूयकंता वि रूयप्पभा वि ।
सूत्र ६३ : इसी प्रकार २ से ६ तक पाँच अध्ययन भूतानन्द नामक इन्द्र की शेष पाँच अग्रमहिषियों के हैं, जिनके नाम हैं- सुरूपा, रूपांशा, रूपवती, रूपकान्ता और रूपप्रभा ।
63. In this order the next five chapters are about the goddesses Surupa, Rupansha, Rupavati, Rupakanta, and Rupaprabha. They all are the other five principal queens of Indra Bhutanand.
ज्ज्ज्ज्फ ज्ञाताधर्मकथांग सूत्र
सूत्र ६४ : एयाओ चेव उत्तरिल्लाणं इंदाणं भाणियव्याओ जाव ( वेणुदालिस्स हरिस्सहस्स अग्गमाणवस्स विसिट्ठस्स, जलप्पभस्स अमितवाहणस्स पभंजणस्स) महाघोसस्स ।
सूत्र ६४ : इसी प्रकार ७ से ५४ तक ४२ अध्ययन उत्तर दिशा के शेष आठ इन्द्रों की ६-६ अग्रमहिषियों के हैं, जिनके नाम हैं - वेणुदाली, हरिस्सह, अग्निमाणवक, विशिष्ट, जलप्रभ, अमितवाहन, प्रभंजन, तथा महाघोष ।
श्रमण भगवान ने चतुर्थ वर्ग का यही अर्थ कहा है ।
64. Similarly there are forty eight chapters (7 - 54), six chapters each for the principal queens of remaining eight Indras of the north, named Venudali, Harissah, Agnimanavak, Vishishta, Jalaprabh, Amitvahan, Prabhanjan, and Mahaghosh.
This is the meaning of the fourth section as told by Shraman Bhagavan Mahavir.
