2. Sudhama Swami narrated—Jambu ! It is said that during that period of time there existed a town named Varanasi. On the northeastern side of the river Ganges was a lake named Mritgangateerhrid. It had a number of natural banks. Its water was cold, deep, pure and clear. Its surface was covered with lotus flowers, lily flowers and dense green foliage. It was filled with a wide variety of lotus flowers and the yellow of their pollen. Thus the lake was very beautiful and attractive.
Flocks of a variety of aquatic animals including fish, turtle, alligator, crocodile, Sunsumar, etc. abounded it and played around fearlessly.
