विशेषार्थ :
श्लोक ५. संपराए - इस शब्द में जीवन, संसार, परलोक, भविष्य, संग्राम सभी अर्थ समन्वित हैं। मनुष्य का संसार उसका जीवन है। जो बीत चुका वह अपरिवर्तनीय है। जिसमें संभावनाएँ हैं वह भविष्य है अथवा परलोक और जिसमें सुख-दुःख की संभावनाएँ हों, उनके लिए प्रयत्न हो वह संग्राम है। यहाँ पर संसार या परलोक दोनों ही अर्थ उपयुक्त हैं।
ELABORATION:
(5) Samparaye-World; this word also encompasses the meanings of life, the other world or next life, the future, and struggle in life. Man's world is his life. What is past is irreversible. That which has possibilities is the future as well as the next birth. Where there are possibilities of sorrow and joy there is struggle. Therefore, in the present context this term means this life and the next.
वान्त भोग की इच्छा मत करो
६ : पक्खन्दे जलियं जोई धूमकेउं दुरासयं । च्छंति वतयं भोक्तुं कुले जाया अगंधणे ॥
अगन्धन कुल में जन्मा सर्प जलती हुई विकराल अग्नि (धूमकेतु) में प्रवेश कर जाना स्वीकार कर लेता है, किन्तु वमन किया (थूका हुआ) विष वापस पीने 8 की इच्छा नहीं करता ॥ ६ ॥
