भन्ते ! मैं अतीत में किये अदत्तादान ग्रहण का प्रतिक्रमण करता हूँ, उसकी निन्दा करता हूँ, उसकी गर्हा करता हूँ और आत्मा द्वारा वैसी प्रवृत्ति का त्याग करता हूँ।

भन्ते ! मैं तीसरे महाव्रत में उपस्थित हुआ हूँ। इसमें सर्व अदत्तादान की विरति होती है ॥ १३ ॥
13. Bhante! After this, the third great-vow is abstinence from taking what is not given.
Bhante! I hereby abstain completely from taking what is not given. Wherever I am, in a village, city or forest; whether of the object is less or more minute or gross, living or non-living; I will not take what is not given; neither will I induce others to do so or approve of others doing so. All my life I will observe this great vow through three means and three methods. In other words, throughout my life I will, through mind, speech or body, neither do, induce others to do or approve of others doing such an act of taking what is not given.
Bhante! I critically review any such act of taking what is not given that I have done in the past, denounce it, censure it and earnestly desist from indulging in it.
Bhante! I have now taken the third great-vow in which one abstains from taking what is not given.
१४. अहावरे चउत्थे भन्ते ! महव्वए मेहुणाओ वेरमणं ।
सव्वं भंते ! मेहुणं पच्चक्खामि - से दिव्वं वा माणुस वा तिरिक्खजोणियं वा, नेव सयं मेहुणं सेविज्जा नेवन्नेहिं मेहुणं सेवाविज्जा मेहुणं सेवते वि अन्ने न समणुजाणामि, जावज्जीवाए तिविहं तिविहेणं मणेणं वायाए कारणं न करेमि न कारवेमि करंतं पि अन्नं न समणुजाणामि ।
तस्स भंते ! पडिक्कमामि निंदामि गरिहामि अप्पाणं वोसिरामि ।
