जनाकीर्ण भोज में गमन-निषेध (१) भिक्षा के लिए जाते हुए भिक्षु को पता चले कि अमुक नगर या गाँव में अमुक स्थान पर
बृहद् भोज होने वाला है। वहाँ अनेक प्रकार का भोजन तैयार किया जा रहा है तो भिक्षा
लेने के संकल्प से उस दिशा में भी नहीं जावे। (२) क्योंकि जहाँ थोड़े लोगों के लिए भोजन बना हो और भिक्षाचरों की भीड़ एकत्र हो गई है तो
वहाँ जाने-आने में परस्पर हाथ, पैर, सिर आदि टकरायेंगे। लोग खाद्य-सामग्री के लिए छीनाझपटी करेंगे। दण्ड-पात्र आदि टूट जायेंगे। सचित्त जल, वनस्पति आदि की भी हिंसा
होगी तथा अन्य अनेक प्रकार से कलह, संघर्ष व हिंसा का प्रसंग उपस्थित होगा। (३) संयमी श्रमण इस प्रकार की जनाकीर्ण संखडि में कदापि नहीं जाये। ऐसा प्रसंग देखकर वापस लौट जाये।

CENSURE OF GOING TO A CROWDED FEAST (1) When going out to seek alms if an ascetic finds that a feast has
been organized in a particular village or city, and a variety of food is being cooked, he should not even think of going in that
direction to seek alms. 2) This is because going to or coming from a place where limited
food is cooked and a crowd of beggars is collected there are chances that hands, feet and heads will collide. People will rush for and grab food. Staff, pots etc. will break. Sachit water, plants etc. will come to harm. Occasions of squabble, quarrel and
violence will arise. (3) A disciplined ascetic should never go to such crowded feast. Seeing such occasion he should turn back.
