२०४. से भिक्खू वा २ बहुसंभूया वणफला पेहाए तहा वि ते णो एवं वएज्जा, तं जहा-पक्काइ वा, पायखज्जाइ वा, वेलोतियाइ वा, टालाइ वा, वेहियाइ वा। एयप्पगारं भासं सावज्जं जाव णो भासेज्जा।
२०४. साधु-साध्वी बहुत परिमाण में उत्पन्न हुए वन-फलों को देखकर इस प्रकार की भाषा नहीं बोले कि ये फल पक गये हैं, ये फल घास आदि में पकाकर खाने योग्य हैं, ये पक जाने से तोड़ने योग्य हैं, ये फल अभी बहुत कोमल हैं, क्योंकि इनमें अभी गुठली नहीं पड़ी है, ये फल खाने के लिए टुकड़े करने योग्य हैं। इस प्रकार की सावद्य यावत् जीव-हिंसा अनुमोदिनी भाषा नहीं बोलनी चाहिए।
204. When a disciplined bhikshu or bhikshuni sees a plentiful crop of wild fruits he should not say—these fruits are ripe, these are to be ripened in hay for eating, as they are ripe they are to be plucked, or these fruits are soft and without kernel, these are ready to be cut for eating. He should not utter such sinful and violent language.
२०५. से भिक्खू वा २ बहुसंभूया वणफला पेहाए एवं वएज्जा, तं जहा-असंथडा ति वा, बहुणिव्यट्टिमफला ति वा, बहुसंभूया ति वा, भूयरूवा ति वा। एयप्पगारं भासं असावज्जं जाव भासेज्जा।
२०५. आवश्यकता पड़ने पर साधु-साध्वी प्रचुर मात्रा में लगे वन-फलों को देखकर इस प्रकार की भाषा बोल सकते हैं कि ये फल वाले वृक्ष फलों के भार से नम्र हो रहे हैं। इनके फल प्रायः पक चुके हैं, ये वृक्ष एक साथ बहुत से फल देने वाले हैं अथवा ये भूतरूप-कोमल कच्चे फल हैं। इस प्रकार की दोषरहित यावत् जीवोपघातरहित भाषा का प्रयोग करना चाहिए।
205. On seeing (if an occasion to speak about them arises) aforesaid wild fruits, bhikshu or bhikshuni should say—these fruit bearing trees are loaded with fruits. The fruits on these trees are almost ripe, these trees produce plenty of fruits or the fruits are soft and not ripe.
