भाषा समिति
(१) पीड़ाकारी भाषा निषेध - भिक्षु कहीं किसी कुष्टी, अंध, अपाहिज, रोगी, विकलांग आदि पुरुष को देखकर उनकी विकलांगता का उल्लेख करके नहीं पुकारे क्योंकि उससे उनके हृदय को पीड़ा पहुँचती है। (सूत्र १९२)

(२) हिंसानुमोदिनी भाषा न बोले - किसी मनुष्य को सुन्दर हृष्ट-पुष्ट देखकर उसे मोटा है, ऐसा न बोले । दुधारू गायों आदि को देखकर दुहने योग्य हैं। भैंसे को हृष्ट-पुष्ट देखकर वहन करने योग्य; कछुआ, शूकर आदि को माँसल देखकर वध करने योग्य; मोर आदि को नाचते देखकर कला सिखाने योग्य; सुन्दर वृक्षों को काटने योग्य; मोटी लकड़ी को फर्नीचर बनाने योग्य है। इस प्रकार किसी भी प्राणी या वस्तु के लिए हिंसा का अनुमोदन करने वाली सावद्य भाषा का प्रयोग नहीं करना चाहिए।
SELF-REGULATION OF SPEECH
(1) Censure of hurtful language – When an ascetic sees a leper, blind, disabled, sick or other such person he should not address him mentioning his disability because this hurts him. (aphorism 192)

(2) Avoid speech that condones violence-Seeing a healthy person an ascetic should not call him fat. Seeing milk bearing cows he should not say that they are ready for milking. In the same way a healthy buffalo should not be called as good for carrying burden; large pig or tortoise should not be called as good for slaying; dancing peacocks should not be called as models to teach dancing; beautiful trees should not be called as good for cutting; thick log of wood should not be called as good for making furniture. Thus an ascetic should avoid using such sinful language inspiring violence directed at some living being or an object.
