तब जो आचार्य या उपाध्याय साथ में हैं, वे उन्हें सामान्य या विशेष रूप से उत्तर देंगे। आचार्य या उपाध्याय उनके प्रश्नों का उत्तर दे रहे हों, तब वह साधु उनके बीच में न बोले। किन्तु ईर्यासमिति का ध्यान रखता हुआ रत्नाधिक क्रम - दीक्षा से छोटे-बड़े के क्रमानुसार रत्नाधिकों के साथ विचरण करे ।

168. While wandering with acharya and upadhyaya, when a bhikshu or bhikshuni is approached by a traveller and asked"Long lived Shraman! Who are you, where from do you come and where will you go?"
Then the accompanying acharya and upadhyaya will provide a general or specific answer. When they are doing so, the ascetic should not intervene. Instead he should walk with them observing the discipline of movement as well as protocol of seniority (based on seniority of initiation).
विहार - विधि
१६९. से भिक्खू वा २ आहाराइणियं गामाणुगामं दूइज्जमाणे णो राइणियस्स हत्थेण हत्थं जाव अणासायमाणे । ततो संजयामेव आहाराइणियं गामाणुगामं इज्जेज्जा |
१६९. यदि कभी रत्नाधिक साधुओं के साथ ग्रामानुग्राम विहार करता हुआ मुनि अपने हाथ से रत्नाधिक साधु के हाथ को, शरीर से उनके शरीर का स्पर्श न करे। उनकी आशातना न करता हुआ साधु रत्नाधिकों के क्रमपूर्वक उनके साथ विहार करे।
PROCEDURE OF WANDERING
169. While wandering with senior ascetics a bhikshu or bhikshuni should not touch their hands with his hands, legs with his legs and body with his body. Taking care to avoid insulting them he should wander with them observing the discipline of movement as well as protocol.
१७०. से भिक्खू वा २ आहाराइणियं दूइज्जमाणे अंतरा से पाडिवहिया उवागच्छेज्जा, तेणं पाडिवहिया एवं वइज्जा आउसंतो समणा ! के तुब्भे ?
