१५८. अह पुणेवं जाणेज्जा पारए सिया उदगाओ तीरं पाउणित्तए । ततो संजयामेव उदल्लेण वा ससणिद्धेण वा काएण दगतीरए चिट्ठेज्जा ।
१५८. यदि वह जाने कि मैं उपधि सहित ही जल से पार हो सकता हूँ तो वह उपकरण सहित पार हो जाये । परन्तु किनारे पर आने के बाद जब तक उसके शरीर से पानी की बूँदें टपकती हों, जब तक उसका शरीर जरा-सा भी गीला हो तब तक वह जल के किनारे पर ही खड़ा रहे ।
158. If he is confident that he can cross even carrying his equipment he may do so. Once he reaches the bank he should remain standing on the river bank as long as water drips and his body is wet.
१५९. से भिक्खू वा २ उदउल्लं वा कायं ससणिद्धं वा कायं णो आमज्जेज्ज वा मज्जेज्ज वा ।
अह पुणेवं जाणेज्जा विगतोदए मे काए छिण्णसिणेहे । तहप्पगारं कायं आमज्जेज्ज वा जाव पयावेज्ज वा । ततो संजयामेव गामाणुगामं दूइज्जेज्जा ।
१५९. साधु-साध्वी जल से भीगे हुए शरीर को एक बार या बार-बार हाथ से स्पर्श न करे, वह भीगे हुए शरीर को सुखाने के लिए आतापना भी नहीं देवे ।
जब वह यह जान ले कि अब मेरा शरीर पूरी तरह सूख गया है, उस पर जल की बूँद या जल का लेप नहीं रहा है, तभी अपने हाथ से उस शरीर का स्पर्श करे, तत्पश्चात् वह संयमी साधु यतनापूर्वक ग्रामानुग्राम विचरण करे ।
159. The ascetic should not touch his body once or repeatedly, while it is still wet. He should not even try to dry his body in
sun.
When he finds that his body is absolutely dry, there is not even a drop or trace of water on it, only then he may touch his body with his hands. After that he may resume his itinerant way taking due care.
