102. In this world there live many devout citizens, their families and servants in the east, west, south and north who are familiar with code of monks. As they are already aware of this they discuss among themselves—these Shramans are virtuous and celibate; they are not allowed to stay at upashrayas with aadhakarma fault (anything specifically meant or prepared for ascetics). Therefore we will give smithy and other said dwellings constructed for our use to these Shramans; we will construct more for our own use later. Those Shramans who come and stay in the said smithy and other dwellings even after hearing and understanding this, and staying there use other small and large donated places, O long lived one ! They are guilty of transgression of the code of prohibited places (Varjya kriya).
१०३. इह खलु पाईणं वा ४ संतेगइया सड्ढा भवंति, तेसिं च णं आयारगोयरे जाव तं रोयमाणेहिं बहवे समण-माहण जाव पगणिय २ समुद्दिस्स तत्थ २ अगारीहिं अगाराइं चेइयाइं भवंति, तं जहा-आएसणाणि वा जाव गिहाणि वा, जे भयंतारो तहप्पगाराई आएसणाणि वा जाव गिहाणि वा उवागच्छंति, २ इयराइयरेहिं पाहुडेहिं अयमाउसो ! महावज्जकिरिया यावि भवति।
१0३. संसार में बहुत-से श्रद्धालुजन रहते हैं जो श्रमणों के आचार-व्यवहार से तो अपरिचित होते हैं, लेकिन श्रद्धा, प्रतीति और रुचि से प्रेरित होकर बहुत-से श्रमण, ब्राह्मण यावत् भिक्षाचरों को गिन-गिनकर तथा उनके उद्देश्य से यत्र-तत्र लोहकारशाला यावत् भूमिगृह आदि विशाल भवन बनवाते हैं। जो निर्ग्रन्थ साधु उस प्रकार के भवनों में आकर रहते हैं, वहाँ रहकर वे अन्यान्य छोटे-बड़े उपहार रूप में भेंट दिये गये स्थान में आकर निवास करते हैं तो वे महावय॑ क्रिया दोष के भागी होते हैं। ____103.
