beggars in their villages or towns. For example-smithy; hostels adjacent to temples; assembly halls; water-huts; shops; warehouses; garages; chariot-workshops; lime-factories; processing houses for grass, leather and bark; coal-factory; carpentry; dwellings on cremation ground, hills, caves; resthouses; stone-houses and cellars. If such smithy and other said dwellings have not already been used for stay by householders Buddhists. Brahmins etc. and Nirgranth ascetics come and stay 5 there for the first time, O long lived one ! They are guilty of transgression of the code of already-used-place (Anabhikranta kriya). This means it is not proper for an ascetic to stay there.
१०२. इह खलु पाईणं वा, ४ संतेगइया सड्ढा भवंति, तं जहा-गाहावइ वा जाव कम्मकरीओ वा तेसिं च णं एवं वुत्तपुव्वं भवइ-जे इमे भवंति समणा भगवंतो सीलमंता । जाय उवरया मेहुणाओ धम्माओ, णो खलु एएसिं भयंताराणं कप्पइ आहाकम्मिए उवस्सए वत्थए। से जाणिमाणि अम्हं अप्पणो सयट्ठाए चेइयाइं भवंति, तं जहा- ' आएसणाणि वा जाव गिहाणि वा सव्वाणि ताणि समणाणं णिसिरामो। अवियाई वयं पच्छा अप्पणो सयट्ठाए चेइस्सामो, तं जहा-आएसणाणि वा जाव गिहाणि वा। एयप्पगारं णिग्घोसं सोच्चा णिसम्म जे भयंतारो तहप्पगाराइं आएसणाणि वा जाव गिहाणि वा उवागच्छंति, इयराइयरेहिं पाहुडेहिं वटुंति, अयमाउसो ! वज्जकिरिया यावि भवइ।
१०२. संसार में पूर्वादि दिशाओं में कई श्रद्धालु गृहस्थ होते हैं जैसे कि-गृहपति यावत् उनकी नौकरानियाँ, उन्हें पहले से ही यह ज्ञात होता है, फलतः वे बातचीत करते हुए परस्पर कहते हैं-ये श्रमण भगवन्त शीलवान् यावत् मैथुन-सेवन से उपरत होते हैं, इन भगवन्तों को आधाकर्मदोष से दूषित उपाश्रय में निवास करना कल्पता नहीं है। अतः हमने अपने काम के लिए जो ये लोहकारशाला यावत् भूमिगृह आदि बनवाए हैं, वे सब स्थान हम इन श्रमणों को दे देते हैं तथा हम अपने लिए बाद में दूसरे लोहकारशाला आदि मकान बना लेंगे। उन गृहस्थों का इस प्रकार का वार्तालाप सुनकर तथा समझकर भी जो निर्ग्रन्थ श्रमण गृहस्थों द्वारा दिये गये उक्त लोहकारशाला आदि मकानों में आकर ठहरते हैं, वहाँ ठहरकर वे अन्यान्य छोटे-बड़े भेंट दिये हुए स्थानों का उपयोग करते हैं, तो आयुष्मन् शिष्य ! उनकी वह शय्या वर्ण्य क्रियायुक्त हो जाती है। आचारांग सूत्र (भाग २)
