भोगासक्ति का भँवर जाल १. से गुणट्ठी-मनुष्य विषयों का लोभी होकर विविध प्रकार से धन संग्रह करता है। भवन बनाता है। मित्र-स्वजन एवं परिवार आदि की ममता में फँसा रहता है। यह एक प्रकार से आसक्ति का भँवर है।
२. तओ से एगया रोगसमुपाया समुप्पज्जंति-कभी उसके शरीर में विविध प्रकार के रोग उत्पन्न होते हैं तब, जिनके लिए धन संग्रह किया वे स्वजन ही उससे मुँह फेर लेते हैं। वे असहाय छोड़ देते हैं।
३. नालं ते ताणाए-अथवा परिवार, मित्र, वैद्य आदि भी रोगों से या मृत्यु से उसकी रक्षा करने में समर्थ नहीं होते। अतः जाणित्तु दुक्खं पत्तेयं-तुम जानो प्रत्येक व्यक्ति का दुःख अपना ही होता है। दूसरा उसे कोई नहीं बाँट सकता।

THE WHIRLPOOL OF MUNDANE
PLEASURES
1. Driven by the greed for mundane pleasures man amasses wealth in many ways. He builds houses and remains trapped in the love for his friends, relatives and family members. This is a type of whirlpool of mundane pleasures or attachment.
2. There comes a time when his body is infested with various diseases and then those kinfolk for whom he had hoarded wealth turn their faces away. They leave him helpless.
3. Also, his family, friends, doctors and others are not capable of providing him protection against disease or death. Therefore you should know that every individual's sorrow is his own. None other can share it.
