________________ A MANUAL OF (i) Third person sing. forms of the Past tense, such as होत्था, हुत्था, पहारेत्थ, पहारेत्था and plural forms of the same tense in अंसु and इंसु such as आहंसु पुच्छिसु, गञ्छिसु, आभासिंसु (ii) The following forms more or less derived from corresponding Sk. forms :-आइक्खइ, कुम्वई, भुविं, होक्खई, बया, अब्बवी, आघं, दुरुहइ, विगिचए, तिवायए, अकासी, तिउट्टइ, तिउट्टिजा, पडिसंधयाई, घेच्छिहि, समुच्छिहि etc. ___(15) The Indeclinable past participle, Gerund or Absolutive forms peculiar to Amg, are: (i) forms ending in हु-कटु, साहहु, अवहटु, from , ह; (ii) forms ending in इत्ता, एत्ता, इत्ताणं, एत्ताणं, such as चइत्ता, विउहित्ता, पासित्ता, करेत्ता, पासित्ताण, करेत्ताणं etc.; ..(iii) forms ending in इत्तु such as दुरुहित्तु, जाणितु, वहित्तु .etc.; . (iv) forms ending in चा such as किच्चा, नच्चा, सोञ्चा, मोच्चा, चैच्चा or चिच्चा (for त्यक्त्वा ), etc.; (v) forms ending in इया or इय, such as परिजाणिया, परियाणिया, वियाणियां, वियाणिय, दुरुहिया, दुरुहिय ; (vi) The following forms more or less derived from corresponding Sk. forms :-विउक्कम्म, निसम्म, समिञ्च, संखाए, अणुवीइ (अणुवीय), ल , लक्ष्ण, दिस्सा ets. (16) The Infinitive in Amg. is formed by adding इत्तए or एत्तए to the root. Thus we have करित्तए, गच्छित्तए, भुञ्जित्तए, उवसामित्तए, ओवायइत्तए. (17) Past passive participle termination for roots ending in F is Š in Amg., in place of a in Sk. or 37 or in Prakrit. Thus we have कड, मड, अभिहड, वावड, संवुड, विपड, वित्थड etc. • (18) The comparative termination in Amg. is तराज, तराय, तराग (Sk. तर-क); e. g., अणिहतराए, अप्पतराए, अकन्ततराए, मूढतराए, मूढतरागे.
