44. Mammata cites this stanza to illustrate that the sabdālamkāra (tavarāgānuprāsaḥ
in this case) - Alliteration- adorns only the words and not the sentiment of
Vipralambha-srigara, love in separation, depicted in the stanza; letters belonging to ta-group are admittedly detrimental to the development of the sentiment of love in union or in separation.
45. This stanza is drawn from Anandavardhana's Devi Sataka to illustrate
Bhasa-slesa-coalescence of the two languages - Sanskrit and Prakrit.
46. Mammata cites this gatha as an example of (Vakyaga Arthi Upamāna-lupta)
Upama. In this gatha 'Sarasa-kavya' is the upameya; सकल-करण --- वितरणम् represents the common property, सदृश is the उपमाप्रतिपादक word and उपमान is not mentioned.

48. Mammata cites this gathā as an example of एकदेशविवर्ति रूपक. It arises when some
of the upamānas are directly mentioned and some are to be understood from the power of words. Mammata comments on this gatha as follows : अत्र रणस्यान्त:पुरत्वमारोप्यमाणं शब्दोपात्तम् । मण्डलाग्रलताया: नायिकात्वं रिपुसेनायाश्च प्रतिनायिकात्वम् अर्थसामर्थ्यादवसीयते इति एकदेशे विशेषेण वर्तनादेकदेशविवर्ति । पृ. ५९७. ,
49. Mammata cites this gatha as an example of समासोक्ति. According to Sudhāsāgara,
the context of this gatha is : समरपतितं स्वामिनमवेक्ष्य वीरपल्या इयमुक्तिः। अत्र केवलं विशेष्यवाचिनो जयलक्ष्मीशब्दस्य कान्तावाचकत्वं (अप्रकृत-कान्ताबोधकत्वं) नास्ति तस्य जयलक्ष्मीमात्रबोधनसामर्थ्यात् विशेषणानां तु 'लहिऊण' - इत्यादि पदानामुभयगतबाहु स्पर्शप्राप्त्यादिबोधकत्वमस्त्येवेति समासोक्तिरलङ्कार
इत्यर्थः। बालबोधिनी पृ. ६१३. 50. This gātha is already dealt with; vide ŚP S.No. (41.50) supra. Mammața cites
it as an example of the figure 3ifterulf (Hyperbole)-statement of difference, where there is none in reality.
51. Mammata cites this gatha as an example of the figure दीपक (Illuminator), to be
precise, of क्रियादीपक. Read : अत्र वर्णनीयत्वेन प्रकृतानां कुलवधूस्तनानां तदुपमानत्वेनाप्रकृतानां कृपणधनादीनां च स्पर्शन-क्रिया-रूप-साधारण-धर्मस्य सकदुपादानमिति क्रियादीपकालंकारोऽयम्।- बालबोधिनी, पृ. ६४०.
