Prakrit Verses in Sanskrit Works on Poetics
85) Dara raiya (?)......
(p. 243)
The verse indicated by this pratika is to be identified with Vakroctljivita (III. v. 141, p. 203, Dharwad edn). The Prakrit verse as presented in the text is very corrupt and therefore obscure. But the gloss which follows the pratika in Kalpalatàviveka supports this identification.
86) Sive (vi) ne vi......
(p. 244, 16)
The verse indicated by this Pratika is undoubtedly to be identified with VJ (III. v. 165, p. 212, Dharwad edn.) But there too the verse is shown to be lost except the opening words" Sivinavikkhena (?))"
87) Puluanti.......
(p. 244, 1.16)
This word forms a part of the Prakrit verse, "Ghettuina cala-vijju-caḍuliyam ", etc., cited earlier on p. 75. Vide 8. No. (14) supra. It is presented in its corrupt form pa vana cala vijju caduliam", etc; in VJ (III. v. 168, p. 213 Dharwad edn.) Puluanti' is rendered as lokayanti' by Kuntaka in his gloss on the Prakrit verse.
88) Tikkharunam......
(p. 252)
This Prakrit verse is presented in its corrupt form in VJ (III. v. 110, p. 189, Dharwad edn). It is reconstructed by Dr. H. C. Bhayani. For the text reconstructed by him vide S. No. (16) under Prakrit Verses In Vakroktijivita supra.
89) Nisàsà......
The verse, indicated by this pratika must be the following one:
oftenen am-fact gefa cavita gefgot asa I afgu-fguu-fgu-gynam-amizda 87 ||
(fazanen: amface eyefa cantai genu: aza 1 आकृष्ट हृदय स्थित कुसुमबाणमकरन्दलेशा इव ।। )
505
(p. 252)
-Gaudavaho v. 748
Note: This identification is strongly supported by the explanation that follows this. pratika in the Kalpalatàviveka.
90) Sohai visuadha......
This verse (Setu I. 22) is first cited in SK (IV. v. 41, p. 424).
(p. 255)
