47 वली जो आत्मा होय तो, जणाय ते नहीं केम। जणाय जो ते होय तो घट पट आदि जेम ॥४७॥ यदि स्याद् मेदवान् जीवोऽनुभूयेत कथं न हि । यदस्ति सकलं तत् तु ज्ञायते कच-काचवत् ॥४७॥
And if there is the Soul, why is it not knowable ? If it is knowable, it is as pot, clothes, etc. are.
48 माटे छे नहीं आतमा, मिथ्या मोक्षउपाय ।। ए अंतर्शकातणो, समजावो सदुपाय ॥४८॥
अरेऽतो नैव आत्माऽस्ति ततो मुक्तिप्रथा वृथा । एनामाभ्यन्तरी रेकामुत्कीलय प्रभो! प्रभो! ॥४८॥
Therefore, the soul is not; the means of liberation, is illusion. Tell me the effective means of explaining away this doubt in my mind.

The True Teacher's Reply. भास्यो देहाध्यासथी, आत्मा देह समान । पण ते बन्ने मिन्न छ, प्रगटलक्षणे भान ॥४९॥
अध्यासाद् भासिता देह-देहिनोः समता, न सा । तयोर्द्वयोः सुमिन्नत्वाल्लक्षणैः प्रकटैरहो ॥ ४९ ॥
