151 'Whose desires have been fulfilled, whose desires have been respected by the acqisition of wished-for objects, whose desires have not been disregarded even for a moment, whose desires have been removed completely by the acquisition of the desired object, and who has now become entirely free from any desires, reposes herself on a pillow etc, sleeps, gets up, sits down, wallows in bed when she is free from sleep. and moves about happily in a way that does not produce the least harm to her foetas,
During that age, at that time on the thirteenth day of the second fortnight of the first month of summer, that is on the thirteenth day, of the bright fortnight of the month of Caitra, after the completion of nine months and seven and a half days, when the planets occupied the highest aspects, when the Candra-moon assumed an excellent position when all the directions were calm, free from darkness and serene, when all the birds were making Jaya Vijaya sound.'
ચિત્ર ૬૪. સામળા.ની પ્રતના પાના ૪૪ ઉપરથી. પ્રભુ શ્રી મહાવીરના ચોવીશથી છવીશ સુધીના પૂર્વભવો અને જન્મ.
ડાબી બાજુના હાંસિયાના ઉપરના ભાગમાં પ્રભુ ચોવીશમાં ભાવમાં મહાશુક્ર દેવલોકમાં ઉત્પન્ન થએલા હોવાથી દેવવિમાનની રજુઆત કરેલી છે. હાંસિયાના મધ્યભાગમાં પચીશમાં ભવમાં પ્રભુ નંદન નામના રાજપુત્ર તરીકે ઉત્પન્ન થએલા હોવાથી હાંસિયાના મધ્યભાગમાં સિંહાસન ઉપર બેઠેલા રાજપુત્રની રજૂઆત કરેલી છે.
ના ભાગમાં પ્રભુ છવીશમાં ભવમાં પ્રાણુત દેવલોકમાં ઉપન થએલા હોવાથી દેવવિમાનની રજૂઆત કરેલી છે.
સત્તાવીશમાં ભવમાં પ્રભુ મહાવીર તરીકે ઉત્પન્ન થએલા હોવાથી ચિત્રમાં ત્રિશલા માતા સુવર્ણપલંગ ઉપર સૂતેલાં છે, અને પિતાના ડાબા હાથથી મહાવીર પ્રભુને બાલકરૂપે પકડી રાખેલા છે. ત્રિશલા દેવીની સનમુખ ઊભેલો પરિચારિકા ચામર વિઝે છે. મધ્યના હાંસિયામાં સુંદર ચિત્રાકૃતિઓ ચીતરેલી છે.
જમણી બાજુના હાંસિયાના ઉપરના ભાગમાં પ્રભુ મહાવીરને સાધુપણુમાં બંને કાનમાં ખીલા ઠેકીને ગોવાળીયાએ કરેલા ઉપસર્ગની રજૂઆત ચિત્રકારે કરેલી છે. હાંસિયાના નીચેના ભાગમાં પ્રભુ મહાવીરના પગ પાસે બંને બાજુ એકેક ભક્ત બેઠેલ છે.
ઉપરની કિનારમાં અનુક્રમે બેઠેલ એક શ્રાવક, જૈન સાધુને ભિક્ષા આપતી એક શ્રાવિકા, સિદ્ધાર્થરાજા અને ત્રિશલા રાણી તથા બે શ્રાવકો અને બે શ્રાવિકાઓ બંને હસ્તની અંજલિ જોડીને પ્રભુની સ્તુતિ કરતા બેઠેલા છે.
નીચેની કિનારમાં ત્રણ ઘોડાઓ તથા ત્રણ હાથીઓ તથા પ્રભુની સ્તુતિ કરતે એક ભક્ત બેઠેલો છે. પાનામાં સોનાના અક્ષરોથી પ્રભુના જન્મનું વર્ણન આ પ્રમાણે કરેલું છે :
પવન જમણી તરફનો અનુકૂળ અને ભેને અડીને ધીરે ધીરે વાતો હતે, મેદિની બરાબર ધાન પાકી જવા ઉપર આવવાને લીધે નીપજેલી હતી, દેશના તમામ લોકો પ્રમોદવાળા બની રમતગમતમાં ગુલતાન હતા તે સમયે લગભગ મધરાતના વખતે, હસ્તત્તરા નક્ષત્રને એટલે ઉત્તરાફાગુની નક્ષત્રને વેગ આવતાં ત્રિશલા ક્ષત્રિયાણીએ આરોગ્ય આરોગ્યપૂર્વક પુત્રને જનમ આપે.
જે રાતે શ્રમણ ભગવાન મહાવીર જનમ્યા તે રાત, ઘણા દે
અને ઘણી.”
