अपर्याप्तं तदस्माकं बलं भीष्माभिरक्षितम् । पर्याप्तं त्विदमेतेषां बलं भीमाभिरक्षितम् ॥ १० ॥
"Our force which is commanded by Bhishma is inadequate while the opposite force which is commanded by Bhima is quite adequate." - 10*
अयनेषु च सर्वेषु यथाभागमवस्थिताः
भीष्ममेवाभिरक्षन्तु भवन्तः सर्व एव हि ॥ ११ ॥ * Actually Kaurav force was larger and stronger than that of Pandvas but Duryodhana, with a view to get the best from Drona tries to describe Pandava forces in great details and intentionally under rates strength of his own army. The author also shows here the vital difference between the reactiions of Duryodhana and Arjuna while surveying those who were fully prepared to cut each others throats.
