ARE, 382/1928-29. Tirupparuttikkungu, otherwise known Jinakanchi, is one of the most important Jaina centres in Tamilnadu. The Trailōkyanatha temple (Trikuṭabasti) of this place at present exhibits architectural features of the Chōla times, however, it had its origin in the Pallava period, as is evident from the copper plates discovered at Pallankoil in Thanjavur district. (See, Palļankōil copper plates). It had been renovated and repaired in subsequent periods. The temple received the patronage of the Pallavas, Cholas and Vijayanagar kings. as
