It is a verse in praise of the Virasangha of the Jains and the lord of Tirunagungoṇḍai. It also mentions Kulottunga and records the gift of the village Nallur to the Jaina temple at this place. A certain mathapati is also referred to in the last line of the verse. 399 ARE, 299/1939-40, South Indian Temple Inscriptions, Vol. I, pt. I, No. 71. Tirunarungonḍai seems to have had a Jaina matha presided over by a Mathathipathi in medieval times.
