States that this (mandapa or temple) stands glorified by the Brihatkatha Reference S, Shanmugam, "Vijayamangalam", Mukkudai, February, 1975, p. 7. Remarks The tradition centering around the temple is that the Sanskrit work Brihatkatha was rendered into Tamil (Perunkathai) by the poet Konguyēl at Vijayamangalam, and the present epigraph seems to confirm it.
