________________ 72 / Lord Mahavira A muhurta means a period of fortyeight minutes. Kota-koti means one crore multiplied by one crore. The word sagaropama stands for an immeasurable period of time. Mahavira never accepted the premise that prosperity or poverty is due to fate. As a matter of fact the adequacy of resources is dependent more on external factors, it is not dependent on one's own fate. Dispassion enables the mind to shrink to the nucleus of its essence thereby stopping the influx of karmic matter directing the mind to merge into the ocean of consciousness.
