He walks like a cloud..... Padmini Atal Muscat
We have been blessed to have Guruji visiting us in Muscat for the past 5 years or so. Whenever Guruji comes here he stays at the house of very dear friends of ours- Vandana and Mahesh Verma. Even though he has been coming here for so many years, and I have been practically living in Vandana's house when he visits, so that I can spend every available moment with him, I had never thought to call him home.
There was some kind of “block” which finally dissolved in January of this year when I plucked up the courage to invite him to our house for lunch.
I remember that day very well... It was the 17th of January 2007. We had been decorating the house for the last 2 days, in our excitement that everything should be perfect when he came. Red and white flower garlands (not real flowers- Guruji doesn't like to hurt them) had been hung up at the entrance, there was a welcoming “Toran” at the door; flowers had been put out to float in a blue painted bowl, and the piece de resistance was a big “rangoli” which we had made on the ground with loose powder in colours of red green and yellow early that morning.
Guruji arrived at about 12:30 pm in my car. I parked my car in the slot where I normally park and when we walked in, I escorted Guruji into the house from the path which leads in from the car shed. This way allowed us to skirt the rangoli as we walked in.
