________________ Kshatriyas are supposed to be “rajasikam” and red is their colour. The left eye of Shiva is the Chandra (moon) netra and it has 16 kalas and 16 trees have come out of the tears from the left eye and those rudrakshams are whitish grey or gold in colour. From the centre eye came the most common rudrakshams which are black in colour. That is the Sudra netram also called the Agni netram and 10 trees came out of that. So the right eye gave 12 trees, left eye 16 trees and central eye 10 trees. Rudraksha Vamanetram Left eye of Shiva (Brahmana) Dakshinanetram Right eye of Shiva (Kshatriya) Jnananeteram Middle eye of Shiva (Sudra) Deity: Agni Color: Black 10 Trees Deity: Chandra Color: Whitish 16 Trees Deity: Surya Color: Brownish, Grey, Red, Gold 12 Trees The best or “uttamam” rudraksham seeds are the size of a big Amla. These are the best for wearing for pooja. The second one "madhyamam" or mediocre are the size of a gooseberry. Anything smaller than that has no merit. It is useful only for keeping count. Please remember that rudrakshas are not ornaments. They are not pieces of jewellery to be worn 24 hours in a day.
