The practice of yoga leads to physical, mental and spiritual health. One who practices yoga is always healthy and happy. He is healed of many ailments of the body and mind. He is blessed with a long life and prosperity.
Let us connect ourselves to the principles of Bhagwan Mahavir....
Bhagwan Mahavir, who was a guiding light in the world, is an ideal personality to worship. He propagated the ideals of ahinsa (non violence), satya (truth), asteya (non stealing), brahmacharya (celibacy), aparigraha (non attachment) and anekant (multiplicity of viewpoints, seeing Truth from all angles). Anekant teaches us to be non judgemental- Not to think that anyone is bad; learn to use "and" (bhi) instead of “only” (hee). Listen to a story:
There were six blind men who gathered around an elephant. They were trying to understand what it looked like. One man felt his leg and said that it was big and thick like a tree. Another felt his trunk and said it was long and thin like a snake and so on. Each blind man touched a different part of the animal and thought that only he was right, and so they started quarelling among themselves about what the elephant actually looked like.
They were all right and yet wrong at the same time because each one saw the elephant from just his own angle.
Truth must be seen from every angle- and that is the principle of "anekant”.
Mahavir Ji has not said that any religion is bad- not even “ Charvak” which is an atheistic viewpoint (they believe that there is no God or soul and that the body which is composed of 5 elements , is everything)... also has some truth in it.
The need of the day is to practice these ideals of Lord Mahavir in our daily life.
