Publisher's Foreword
Due to several reasons the Parshwa International Foundation for Research and Education has been not able immediately to undertake academic activities as it had planned. Eventhen it has published so far four books relating to Prakrit research and Jainology. We are happy to bring out this Gujarati translation of a hundred selected Gātrās from the famous collection of Prakrit Muktakas, viz. Hāla's Gathākośa. Dr. Bhayani is not only a veteran scholar of our Classical languages and literatures, but he has produced a dozen translations - actually many of them free translations and hence highly readable
- of well-known Classical texts of high literary value. We are grateful to him for accepting our request to include his present work in our series.
