રાજવંશમાં જૈનધર્મ અને તે ભેગવિલાસમાં એટલે લીન થઈ ગયો હતો કે તેના ભાઈ ચિત્તને ઉપદેશ તેને અસર કરી શક્યું નહિ અને અંતે તે નરકે ગયે.૧
તેજ સૂત્રમાં આ વિષે એક બીજો ઉલ્લેખ કાંપિલ્યના રાજા જ્યને પણ આવે છે, “જેણે પોતાના રાજ્યને ત્યાગ કરી પૂજ્ય સાધુ ગર્દભાલિના સમક્ષ જૈનધર્મ સ્વીકાર્યો હતે.” ૨ આમ જોઈ શકાય છે કે પ્રાયઃ કાસી અને પાંચાલ-અતિ વિસ્તીર્ણ અને પ્રભાવાન સેળ રાજ્યમાંના બે વિવાહ સંબંધથી જોડાયાં હતાં. વળી જ્યારે આપણે પારગિટરે તૈયાર કરેલી વંશાવલીમાં દક્ષિણ પાંચાલના રાજા તરીકે કઈ સેનજીતને જોઈએ છીએ ત્યારે તે વાત નિઃસંશય સાચી ઠરે છે અને નામમાં બહુજ સૂક્ષમ તફાવત હેવાથી આ સેનજિતને આપણે ઐતિહાસિક દૃષ્ટિએ પ્રસેનજિત જરા પણ મુશ્કેલી વગર સ્વીકારી શકીએ છીએ.”
અતિ ઉપયેગી એક માત્ર અનુમાન આ ઉપરથી જે નીકળી આવે છે તે એ છે કે જૈનધર્મ મહાવીરના સમય કરતાં પાશ્વના સમયમાં ઓછો રાજ્યાશ્રય ભેગવતે ન હતે. તેના અનુગામી કરતાં તેના પ્રભાવને વિસ્તાર જરાયે ઓછો ન હતે. તે કાસીના રાજવંશના પુરુષ હતા, પાંચાલના રાજાના જમાઈ હતા, તે ઉપરાંત તેમનું નિર્વાણ
