જન વિદ્વાન્ ડૉ. મન જેકેાખી કહે છે કેઃ—
"In conclusion let me assert my conviction tha' Jainism is an original system, quite distinct and independent from all others: and that therefore it is of great importance for the study of philosophical thought and religious life in ancient India."
અર્થાત્ અન્તમાં મને મારા થયેલ નિશ્ચય જણાવવા ઘા કે જૈનધમ એ મૂળ ધમ છે અને તમામ દેશનેથી તદ્ન ભિન્ન અને સ્વતન્ત્ર છે. પ્રાચીન ભારતવર્ષના તત્ત્વજ્ઞાન અને ધાર્મિક જીવનના અભ્યાસ માટે તે ઘણા અગત્યના છે.
હવે છેલ્લે, ઉપસહાર કરતાં જણાવીશ કે, મહાત્માઓના જીવનમાંથી જીવનની મહાન વસ્તુ બરાબર સમજી જઇ તેને આપણે પેતાના જીવનમાં ઉતારવા પ્રયત્ન કરવે જોઇએ. મૈત્રીભાવ, સેવાભાવ, સત્ય, સંયમ, ત્યાગના મેધપા જીવનમાં ન ઉતરે ત્યાં સુધી આત્મજીવનને વિકાસ અશય છે. આગળ વધવા માટે પ્રજામાં એકીકરણની પહેન્રી જરૂર છે. એકીકરણુ કેટલું કામ કરે છે તે જુએ !
અર્થાત્--- શિપ તેમને મળવાની તક મને કદી પ્રાપ્ત થઇ નથી; છતાં તેમની સાથેના મિત્રાચારી પત્ર-વ્યવહારના પ્રસંગમાં તેમની અગાધ વિદ્રત્તા, તેમને ઉચ્ચ કટીને રેટ અને તેમના માયાળુ હૃદયની કદર કરી શક્યો છું. જમન ડા જે. તેત્રી લખે છે કે
“I shall always entertain the highest regard for him, As a man and a scholar, it is impossible to surpass him, but we all must try to imitate his example. He was a famous man, not only among his coreligionists, but, among European scholars as well. His distinguished services to the cause of sanskrita literature will never be forgotten, long as Indian literature continues to be studied.
અર્થાત્, તેમને માટે હું હંમેશાં ઉંચામાં ઉંચુ માન અતે પૂજ્યભાવ રાખીશ. એક સાચા મનુષ્ય અને સ્કૉલર તરીકે તેમનાથી ચઢીમાતા થવું એ આપણે માટે અશકય છે; કિન્તુ તેમના નમનેદાર આર્ઝાને અનુસરવા આપણે બધાએએ પ્રયત્ન કરવા જોઇએ. તેઓ કેવળ પેાતાના ધર્મોવાળા સમાજમાંજ મશહૂર હતા, એમ નથી, પશુ યુરોપીયન કાલરામાં પશુ તે પ્રખ્યાત યશસી હતા. સંસ્કૃત લિટરેચરના ક્ષેત્રમાં તેમણે બજાવેલી સુપ્રસિદ્ધ સેવા. ભારતીય સાહિત્યનું અધ્યયન ચાહ્યા કરશે ત્યાં સુધી નહિ ભૂલાય.
