sojourn to Modhera in the afternoon and for some mental diversion in the form of Garba dances in circles provided by one group of ladies of the town and another of those who had come from Bombay and other places and in that of Duha-singing and story.telling done by a Gadhavi and Mr. Raichura of Kathiawar, Speaker alter speaker mounted the rostrum erected in the middle of the Mandap, and offered vocal oblations each according to his fund of knowledge to the great soul who had departed from this world more than nine centuries ago but after having lived upto a ripe old age of 85 years, nearly 65 out of which had been devoted to the dissemination of knowledge orally to his contemporaries and by his compositions of ever-lasting value to the future generation. There can be no doubt that his name will be on the lips of learned men upto the last days in this manvantara in which the Sanskrit and Prakrit languages will be studied, whether it be in this land of his birth or in any other land on this wide terrestrial globe. Some took a general survey of his literary work while others expatiated on the peculiar merits of some one or other of his works which cover a very wide and varied field of human interest and comprise one and a half crore of verses. Those which formed the subject of frequent mention at their hands were his SiddhaHema, a work on Sanskrit and Prakrit grammar, Kumarapalacarita, a biography of his royal pupil, Dvyashraya a work of Jain logic, Shabılanushasana,
