I sing this praise of Lord Shanatinatha, who was the king of the city of Hastinapura of the Kuru country (prior to his turning a monk), who latter grew up to enjoy the great powers of an unrivalled emperor, who was the lord of seventy-two thousand trade centres and such other countries, whose path is followed by thousands of crowned kings, who is the lord of 14 excellent gems, a great treasures and 64 thousand excellent and beautiful wives, who was the owner of 84 lakhs of horeses, elephants and chariots, who held sway over96 crores of villages.
