knowledge. Manuscripts preserved there are treasures in our national heritage. A survey of the spred of Jainism shows that Jainas pursued their religion and practices up to the present day. Jainism was a powerful influence that moulded the religious and socio-cultural life of India. In recent time numerical strength of Jain community has no doubt gone down, yet after its decline it is being reestablished. In the last decades many developments have taken place. Further it is worth nothing that endeavors of reviving Mahavira's religion will be fruitful if the jain community as a whole unites.
The popularity and prestigious position enjoyed by Jainism throughout India proves that jainism has contributed substantially to the culturel heritage of India though it suffered a temporary setback occasionally. It is hoped that the present paper would open various new avenues of study and research in thus vast subject. In the new millennium Jainism will prosper undoubtedly as the religion of Conqueror'.
In the end 'May the rule of Jinas be victoriou 'Jainam Jayati Sasanam'.
