The Com. says .- Tfata 4657 Ferro ag नावगम्यते. ___157. आयम्बिलवडमाण is a penance in which one 391meal is taken once a day. It is followed by a चउत्थ, then, two आयम्बिल meals, then चउत्थ and so on till 100 Brass. Hence there are 1 +2 +3... 100=5050 days; to this 100 fasts till fourth meal, i. e., 100 days of 39914, are to be added. Thus the total duration of this penance is 14 years, 3 months and 20 days. 160. अट्ठ य वासा आई etc. The period (परियाग) of ascetic life for the wives of that was eight years. in the case of काली, nine years in the case of सुकाली and so on till in the case of HEUFORT it was. seventeen years.
