The Com. makes a distinction between दर्भ and कुश; by दर्भ he understands समूलाः दर्भाः, grass with the roots, and by कुश, दर्भाग्र, i. e., the ends of the grass. अदिट्ठदोसपइयं-who was free from flaws and was in no way depraved. Com. दृष्टो दोष श्चौर्यादिर्यस्याः सा तथा, सा चासो पतिता च जात्यादेबहिष्कृतेति दृष्ट. दोषपतिता, न तथेत्यदृष्टदोषपतिता. कालवात्तणिं, in the prime of youth. Com. काले भोगकाले यौवने वर्तते इति कॉलवर्तिनी. फुल्लियकिंसुयसमाणे, resembling the पलाश tree in flowers which are red in colour. 57. सुभेणं परिणामेणं, as an auspicious result or maturity of acts. कम्मरयविकिरणकरं, destroying the dirt ( रजस् ) or dust of acts. अपुव्वकरणं-In the practice of ascetic life there are fourteen stages (गुणस्थान) by which the ascetic attains his goal. अपुव्वकरण is the eighth stage which destroys the acts. 62. केस, i. e., के एस, (कः एषः). ववरोविए stands for व्यवरोपितवान्. 63. अणेगभवसयसहस्ससंचियं कम्मं उदीरेमाणं, driving out or destroying the acts (which गजसुकुमार had ) stocked in his hundreds of thousands of births. ठियए चेव ठिइभेएणं कालं करिस्सइ, who will die on the spot while standing. 77. सुरग्गिदीवायणमूलागे विणासे-There are stories current botli in the Brahmanic literature and the Jain literature about the ruin of द्वारवती founded by कृष्ण The Jain version attributes the destruction to wine
