9811 23 In Ajmēr. There was an Achārya of
Prabhāchandra in Gujarāt. A certain Śrāvak called Prabhāchandra for the purpose of performing a consecration, but he could not come. Then after giving the Sūrimantra to the Achārya, the Śrāvak conferred on him the title of Bhattāraka. Thus Padmanandin became a Bhattāraka. (MS. B adds the date Sarn .1375=A. D.
1318.) He carved a stone figure of Sarasvati and caused it to speak (see p. 41.)
