87 Mulasamgha and disciple of Viranandi Traividya ; he is described as wellversed in debates and learned in Syadvāda philosophy. The inscription bears the date 1235 (1313 A.D.)"; it also refers to the death of Subhacandra, the disciple of Ramacandra of the same tradition. The inscription No. 472 bears the date of the death of Meghacandra Traividya as Mārgasīrşa Suddha 14 Saka 1037 (1115 A.D.).
Inscription No. 50 gives the date of the demise of Prabhācandra, the disciple of Meghacandra as ‘āśvina śuddha daśami' Saka 1068 (1146 A.D.); it also refers to two disciples of Meghacandra : Prabhācandra and Viranandi.3 It is shown that Meghacandra's disciple Prabhācandra caused Mahāpūjā-Pratisthā in Saka 1041 (1118 A.D.)4.
Thus the Acāryas of the tradition, referred to in the inscriptions will be of the order.

Plainly speaking Anantakirti was the grand disciple of Meghacandra Traividya who died in 1115 A.D.; hence Anantakirti can be assigned to the 12th c. A.D. obviously, Anantakirti is decidedly a different person from his namesake referred to in Pārsvanath-carita (1025 A.D.); if the age of those Acāryas be supposed to be about one hundred and twentyfive years, disciples and grand disciples might be contemporaries ; in that case, Anantavirya referred to in the inscriptions could be identical with his namesake referred in Pārsvanāth-carita. But this push and pull theory is inadequate in this case.
The Sāntinātha Basadi at Bāndhavanagara was built in c. 1207 A.D. when king Brahmā of Kadamba dynasty was ruling. The temple was in charge of Anantakīrti Bhattāraka of Tintindikagachha of Krānāragana; who is different from his namesake of Pustakagachha Desigana ; he is also different from Anantakirti, the author of Jivasiddhi. The Cikkamāgadi inscription of Basavannamandira belongs to the 23rd year of Hoysala Vira Ballāla (about c. 1212 A.D.). This inscription refers to the voluntary
