The personification of "Sruta-Purusa' too, is found in the Jain-tradition. The twelve Agamas, Ācara etc., are like the parts of the 'Gruta Puruşa'. They are, therefore, called the twelve Angas. So the Dwādaśānga becomes the adjective of the Gaņipitaka and the Śruta-Purușa' both.
AYĀRO
The title
This Agama is the first Anga of the 'Dwādaśāngi. As it contains the account of the conduct (Alära), the title 'AYĀRO' It has two Srutaskandhas-1. AYĀRO, 2. ĀYĀRAČULA
The Contents
The Samawâyānga and the Nandi give an account of the Āćārānga. According to that the present Sutra explains the Acara, Gocar. Akarya Umāswāti has expounded the topics of every Adhyayana in the Ācārāpga in brief That is given in the order as under :3
1. Sahajivakāya Y@tnã. 2. Renunciating the glory of the wordly off-springs. 3. Winning over of the Parişahas, such as cold-hot etc. 4. Vodaunted Samyaktwa. 5. Udvegas of the world, 6. The means of nullifying the 'Karmas' (deeds). 7. The endeavour to `Vaiyavritya'. 8. The way to penance.
