6. पत्तन [जहां सब वस्तुएं उपलब्ध हों] 7. आकर [जहां सब वस्तुएं उपलब्ध हों] 8. द्रोणमुख [जहाँ जल और स्थल को मिलाने वाला मार्ग हो, जहां समुद्री माल प्राकर उतरता हो] 9. निगम [जहां व्यापारियों की वसति हो] 10. राजधानी [जहां राजा के रहने के महल आदि हों] 11. प्राश्रम [जहां तपस्वी आदि रहते हों] 12. निवेश सन्निवेश [जहां सार्थवाह पाकर उतरते हों] 13. सम्बाध-संबाह [जहां कृषक रहते हों अथवा अन्य गांव के लोग अपने गांव से धन आदि की रक्षा के निमित्त पर्वत, गुफा आदि में आकर ठहरे हुए हों] 14. घोष [जहां गाय आदि चराने वाले गूजर लोग-ग्वाले रहते हों] 15. अंशिका [गांव का अर्ध, तृतीय अथवा चतुर्थ भाग] 16. पुटभेदन [जहां पर गांव के व्यापारी अपनी चीजें बेचने आते हों] नगर की प्राचीर के अन्दर और बाहर एक-एक मास तक रह सकते हैं। अन्दर रहते समय भिक्षा अन्दर से लेनी चाहिए और बाहर रहते समय बाहर से। श्रमणियां दो मास अन्दर और दो मास बाहर रह सकती हैं। जिस प्राचीर का एक ही द्वार हो वहां निर्ग्रन्थ और निर्ग्रन्थियों को एक साथ रहने का निषेध किया है, पर अनेक द्वार हों तो रह सकते हैं। जिस उपाश्रय के चारों ओर अनेक दुकानें हों, अनेक द्वार हों वहां साध्वियों को नहीं रहना चाहिए किन्तु साधु यतनापूर्वक रह सकता है / जो स्थान पूर्ण रूप से खुला हो, द्वार न हों वहां पर साध्वियों को रहना नहीं कल्पता। यदि अपवादरूप में उपाश्रय-स्थान न मिले तो परदा लगाकर रह सकती हैं। निर्ग्रन्थों के लिए खुले स्थान पर भी रहना कल्पता है। निर्ग्रन्थ और निर्ग्रन्थियों को कपड़े की मच्छरदानी [चिलिमिलिका रखने व उपयोग करने की अनुमति प्रदान की गई है। निर्ग्रन्थ व निर्ग्रन्थियों को जलाशय के सन्निकट खड़े रहना, बैठना, लेटना, सोना, खाना-पीना, स्वाध्याय आदि करना नहीं कल्पता / जहां पर विकारोत्पादक चित्र हों वहां पर श्रमण-श्रमणियों को रहना नहीं कल्पता। मकान मालिक की बिना अनुमति के रहना नहीं कल्पता। जिस मकान के मध्य में होकर रास्ता हो--- जहां गृहस्थ रहते हों, वहां श्रमण-श्रमणियों को नहीं रहना चाहिए / किसी श्रमण का आचार्य, उपाध्याय, श्रमण या श्रमणी से परस्पर कलह हो गया हो, परस्पर क्षमायाचना करनी चाहिए। जो शांत होता है वह आराधक है। श्रमणधर्म का सार उपशम है-"उवसमसारं सामण्णं"। वर्षावास में विहार का निषेध है किन्तु हेमन्त व ग्रीष्म ऋतु में विहार का विधान है। जो प्रतिकूल क्षेत्र हों वहाँ निर्ग्रन्थ-निर्ग्रन्थियों को बार-बार विचरना निषिद्ध है। क्योंकि संयम की विराधना होने की सम्भावना है। इसलिए प्रायश्चित्त का विधान है। [ 50 ]
