210] [जीवाजीवाभिगमसूत्र का पयलाएष्ण वा जाव उसिणे उसिणमूए संकसमाणे संकसमाणे सायासोक्खबहुले यावि विहरेज्जा। गोयमा! सीयवेयणिज्जेसु नरएसु नेरइया एत्तो अणिटुतरियं चेव सीयवेयणं पच्छणुभवमाषा विहरंति। - [89] (5) हे भगवन् ! शीतवेदनीय नरकों में नैरयिक जीव कैसी शीतवेदना का अनुभव करते हैं ? गौतम ! जैसे कोई लुहार का लड़का जो तरुण, युगवान् बलवान् यावत् शिल्पयुक्त हो, एक बड़े लोहे के पिण्ड को जो पानी के छोटे घड़े के बराबर हो, लेकर उसे तपा-तपाकर, कूट-कूटकर जघन्य एक दिन, दो दिन, तीन दिन उत्कृष्ट से एक मास तक पूर्ववत् सब क्रियाएँ करता रहे तथा उस उष्ण और पूरी तरह उष्ण गोले को लोहे की संडासी से पकड़ कर असत् कल्पना द्वारा उसे शीतवेदनीय नरकों में डाले (मैं अभी उन्मेष-निमेष मात्र समय में उसे निकाल लूगा, इस भावना से डाले परन्तु वह फ्ल-भर बाद उसे फूटता हुआ, गलता हुआ, नष्ट होता हुआ देखता है, वह उसे अस्फुटित रूप से निकालने में समर्थ नहीं होता है। इत्यादि वर्णन पूर्ववत् कहना चाहिए। तथा मस्त हाथी का उदाहरण भी वैसे ही कहना चाहिए यावत् वह सरोवर से निकलकर सुखशान्ति से विचरता है / ) इसी प्रकार हे गौतम ! असत् कल्पना से शीतवेदना वाले नरकों से निकला हुआ नरयिक इस मनुष्यलोक में शीतप्रधान जो स्थान हैं जैसे कि हिम, हिमपुंज, हिमपटल, हिमपटल के पुंज, तुषार, तुषार के पुंज, हिमकुण्ड, हिमकुण्ड के पुंज, बीत और शीतपुंज आदि को देखता है, देखकर उनमें प्रवेश करता है; वह वहाँ अपने नारकीय शीत को, तृषा को, भूख को, ज्वर को, दाह को मिटा लेता है और शान्ति के अनुभव से नींद भी लेता है, नींद से प्रांखें बंद कर लेता है यावत् गरम होकर अति गरम होकर वहां से धीरे धीरे निकल कर साता-सुख का अनुभव करता है / हे गौतम ! शीतवेदनीय नरकों में नैरयिक इससे भी अनिष्टतर शीतवेदना का अनुभव करते हैं / नरयिकों की स्थिति 90. इमोसे गं भंते ! रयणप्पभाए पुढवोए रइयाणं केवइयं कालं ठिई पण्णता? गोयमा! जहन्नेण कि उक्कोसेण वि ठिई भाणियबा जाव अहेसत्तमाए। [90] हे भगवन् ! इस रत्नप्रभापृथ्वी के नैरयिकों की स्थिति कितनी कही गई है ? गौतम ! जघन्य से और उत्कर्ष से पन्नवणा के स्थितिपद के अनुसार अधःसप्तमीपृथ्वी तक स्थिति कहनी चाहिए। उपवर्तना 61. इमोसे णं भंते ! रयणप्पभाए रइया अणंतरं उव्यट्ठिय कहिं गच्छति ? कहि उववनंति ? कि नेरइएसु उववज्जति, किं तिरिक्खजोणिएसु उववज्जंति, एवं उव्वट्टणा भाणियम्वा जहा वक्कंतीए तहा इह वि जाव अहेसत्तमाए / [91] हे भगवन् ! रत्नप्रभापृथ्वी के नैरयिक वहाँ से निकलकर सीधे कहां जाते हैं ? कहाँ
