क्षण भर में आलोक फैला देता है, इसी प्रकार क्षमागुण से संयुक्त संयत के जीवन में आत्मज्ञान का प्रकाश स्फुटित हो जाता है। चौरासी लाख जीवयोनि का पाठ -
__सात लाख पृथ्वीकाय, सात लाख अप्काय, सात लाख तेजस्काय, सात लाख वायुकाय, दश लाख प्रत्येक वनस्पतिकाय, चौदह लाख साधारण वनस्पतिकाय, दो लाख द्वीन्द्रिय, दो लाख त्रीन्द्रिय, दो लाख चतुरिन्द्रिय, चार लाख नारकी, चार लाख देवता, चार लाख तिर्यञ्च पंचेन्द्रिय, चौदह लाख मनुष्य, ऐसे चार गति में चौरासी लाख जीवयोनि के सूक्ष्म-बादर, पर्याप्त-अपर्याप्त किसी जीव का हालते-चालते, उठते-बैठते जानते-अजानते हनन किया हो, कराया हो, हनता प्रति अनुमोदन किया हो, छेदा-भेदा हो, किलामणा उपजाई हो, मन, वचन, काया करके अठारह लाख चौवीस हजार एक सौ वीस (१८,२४,१२०) प्रकारे तस्स मिच्छा मि दुक्कडं।
विवेचन – चार गति में जितने भी संसारी जीव हैं, उनकी चौरासी लाख योनियां हैं । योनि का अर्थ है – जीवों के उत्पन्न होने का स्थान । समस्त जीवों के ८४ लाख प्रकार के उत्पत्ति-स्थान हैं । यद्यपि स्थान तो इससे भी अधिक हैं, परन्तु वर्ण, गन्ध, रस, स्पर्श और संस्थान के रूप में जितने भी स्थान परस्पर समान होते हैं, उन सबका मिलकर एक ही स्थान माना जाता है।
पृथ्वीकायिक जीवों के मूल भेद ३५० हैं । पांच वर्ण से उक्त भेदों को गुणा करने से १७५० भेद होते हैं । पुनः दो गन्ध से गुणा करने पर ३५००, पुनः पांच रस से गुण करने पर १७५००, पुनः आठ स्पर्श से गुण करने पर १,४०,०००, पुनः पांच संस्थान से गुणा करने पर कुल सात लाख भेद होते हैं।
पृथ्वीकाय के समान ही जलकाय, तेजस्काय, वायुकाय के भी प्रत्येक के मूल भेद ३५० हैं । उनको पांच वर्ण आदि से गुणा करने से कुल दस लाख योनियां हो जाती हैं । कन्दमूल की जाति के कुल भेद ७०० हैं , अतः उनको पांच वर्ण आदि से गुणा करने पर कुल १४,००,००० योनियां होती हैं।
इसी प्रकार द्वीन्द्रिय, त्रीन्द्रिय, चतुरिन्द्रिय रूप विकलत्रय के प्रत्येक के मूल भेद १००-१०० हैं । उनको पांच वर्ण आदि से गुणा करने पर प्रत्येक की कुल चार-चार लाख योनियां होती हैं । मनुष्य जाति के मूल भेद ७०० हैं, अतः पांच वर्ण आदि से गुणा करने से मनुष्य की कुल १४,००,००० योनियां हो जाती हैं। १. जीव तत्त्व के ५६३ भेदों को अभिहयादि देशों के साथ गुणाकार करने से ५६३० भेद होते हैं। फिर इनको राग और द्वेष के साथ
द्विगुण करने से ११२६० भेद बनते हैं। फिर इन्हीं को मन, वचन, काया के साथ त्रिगुणा करने से ३३७८० भेद हो जाते हैं। फिर तीन करणों के साथ गुणाकार करने से १०१३४० भेद बन जाते हैं। इनको तीन कालों के साथ गुणाकार करने से ३०४०२०भेद होते हैं। फिर अरिहंत, सिद्ध, आचार्य, उपाध्याय, गुरु और आत्मा,इस प्रकार छह से गुणा करने पर १८२४१२० भेद बनते हैं। इस प्रकार से मैं मिच्छा मि दुक्कडं देता हूँ और फिर पापकर्म न करने की प्रतिज्ञा करता हूँ।

- Seven lakh (700,000) Earth-bodied, seven lakh (700,000) Water-bodied, seven lakh (700,000) Fire-bodied, seven lakh (700,000) Air-bodied, ten lakh (1 million) each of plant-bodied, fourteen lakh (1.4 million) ordinary plant-bodied, two lakh (200,000) two-sensed, two lakh (200,000) three-sensed, two lakh (200,000) four-sensed, four lakh (400,000) hellish, four lakh (400,000) celestial, four lakh (400,000) five-sensed non-human, fourteen lakh (1.4 million) human.

In these four realms, I have unknowingly, knowingly, intentionally, or unintentionally, through my actions or inaction, caused harm to any living being, whether subtle or gross, in their state of being, walking, standing, sitting, or lying down. I have also approved of such harm, pierced, broken, or caused pain.
