प्रकाशकीय
श्रमण भगवान् महावीर द्वारा अर्थतः भाषित देशना का चार विभागों में वर्गीकरण किया गया है१. अंग, २. उपांग, ३. मूल, ४. छेद । सैद्धान्तिक, दार्शनिक विचारों एवं श्रमण, श्रमणोपासक वर्ग के प्राचार का विस्तार से प्रतिपादन किये जाने से ये आगम और अर्थगांभीर्य से समन्वित संक्षेप में लिपिबद्ध होने से सूत्र कहे जाते हैं।
स्वर्गीय सर्वतोभद्र श्रद्धेय युवाचार्य श्री मधुकरमुनि जी म. की भावनानुसार अभी तक साध्वीरत्न श्री उमरावकुवरजी म. 'अर्चना' के निर्देशन में विभिन्न विज्ञ महामना श्रमणों और अन्यान्य विद्वानों व अर्थसहयोगी श्रावकों के सहकार से आदि के तीन विभागों के सभी आगमों का प्रकाशन हो गया है। अब चतुर्थ विभाग के आगमों का प्रकाशन निशीथसूत्र से प्रारम्भ कर रहे हैं।
निशीथसूत्र को आचारांगसूत्र की चूलिका रूप माने जाने की मान्यता है। यह मान्यता उचित भी है। क्योंकि प्राचारांग में श्रमणवर्ग की विधेयचर्या का बहु आयामी विस्तृत विवेचन है और निशीथसूत्र में उस चर्या में प्रमादवश होने वाली स्खलनाओं के प्रमार्जन-विधान का प्ररूपण किया गया है। जो चर्या की पवित्रता, प्रतिष्ठा स्थापित करने के लिए मार्गदर्शक है । यह वर्णन इतना विस्तृत है कि एक पृथक् ग्रन्थ के रूप में मान्य हो गया । एतद्विषयक विशेष विचार प्रस्तावना में किया गया है।
विभिन्न संस्थाओं की ओर से निशीथसूत्र का प्रकाशन हुआ है। किन्तु वह सर्वजनसुगम बोधगम्य नहीं है। समिति ने अपनी निर्धारित नीति के अनुसार मूलपाठ के साथ सरल हिन्दी भाषा में उसके हार्द को स्पष्ट किया है। जो सर्वसाधारण के लिये उपयोगी सिद्ध होगा।
इस सूत्र का अनुवाद-विवेचन-सम्पादन आगममनीषी अनुयोगप्रवर्तक मुनि श्री कन्हैयालालजी म. 'कमल' एवं गीतार्थ श्री तिलोकमुनिजी म. ने किया है तथा समीक्षात्मक प्रस्तावना उपाचार्य श्री देवेन्द्रमुनिजी म. शास्त्री ने लिखी है। समिति इन श्रमणश्रेष्ठों का कृतज्ञता ज्ञापित करने के साथ अभिनन्दन करती है।
अन्त में यह सूचित करते हुए प्रसन्नता है कि शेष दशाश्रुतस्कन्ध आदि तीन छेदसूत्रों का मुद्रणकार्य प्रायः पूर्ण हो चुका है। शेष कार्य यथाशीघ्र पूर्ण करने के लिए प्रयत्नशील हैं। आशा है सम्पूर्ण आगमबत्तीसी के प्रकाशन का निर्धारित लक्ष्य समिति अल्प समय में प्राप्त कर लेगी। पूर्व प्रकाशित जिन प्रागमों का प्रथम संस्करण अप्राप्य हो गया है, उनमें से कुछएक के द्वितीय संस्करण प्रकाशित हो चुके हैं और शेष का भी मुद्रण हो रहा है। जिससे सम्पूर्ण प्रागम साहित्य पाठकों को उपलब्ध हो सकेगा।

The translation, commentary, and editing of this **Sutra** have been done by **Agammanishi Anuyogpravartak Muni Shri Kanhaiyalalji Maharaj 'Kamal'** and **Geetarth Shri Tilokmuniji Maharaj**. The critical introduction has been written by **Upadhyay Shri Devendramuni Ji Maharaj Shastri**. The committee expresses its gratitude and congratulations to these esteemed Shramans.

Finally, we are pleased to announce that the printing of the remaining three **Chhed Sutras**, namely **Dashaashrutaskandha** and others, is almost complete. We are working diligently to complete the remaining tasks as soon as possible. We hope that the committee will achieve its goal of publishing the entire **Agambattisi** in a short time. The first editions of some of the previously published **Pragamas** have become unavailable. Second editions of some of these have already been published, and the printing of the rest is underway. This will ensure that the entire **Pragam** literature is available to readers.
