[Surya Prajnapti Sutra]
Dividing 60 by 1 gives the speed of 1 Muhurta.
2 - To find the measure of the field of vision, multiply the speed of 1 Muhurta by half the day-span (of the Sun). The result is the measure of the field of vision. - Sutra 23
|| Second Prabhrut is complete || Sutra 24 The measure of the area illuminated by the Sun
_When the Sun is in the innermost circle, it illuminates one and a half parts of the five imagined circles of Jambudvipa and one part remains unilluminated.
In Jambudvipa, both Suns illuminate three parts of the five circles and two parts remain unilluminated. That is, in the five imagined parts of Jambudvipa, three parts are day and two parts are night.
_ Imagining 366 parts of Jambudvipa, 1 part (circle) has 732 parts, 3 circles have 2196 parts. That is, out of 3660 parts, 2196 parts are day and 1464 parts are night, or both Suns complete one revolution of the circle in 60 Muhurtas. Imagining 5 circles of Jambudvipa, 1 circle is 12 Muhurta-like. The time of 12 Muhurtas is 732 parts in the imagined 3660 parts of Jambudvipa.
When the Sun moves from the innermost circle towards the outermost circle, there is a loss-gain of 2.61 parts in the day-night in each circle.
. Reducing the innermost circle, the outermost circle comes 183rd. By doing 18342, there is a loss-gain of 366/61 parts in the day-night. That is, there is a loss of 6 Muhurtas in the day and an increase in the night. With respect to both Suns, there is a loss-gain of 12 Muhurtas. In the outermost circle, the Sun illuminates one part and one and a half parts remain unilluminated.
As mentioned earlier, with respect to each Sun, there is 1 part day and 1 and a half parts night. With respect to both Suns, there are 2 parts day and 3 parts night.
In the innermost circle, there are 3 parts day and 2 parts night. In the outermost circle, there are 2 parts day and 3 parts night. 1 part should be known as 12 Muhurta-like.
