६० से भाग देने पर १ मुहूर्त की गति प्राप्त होती है।
२ - दृष्टिपथ क्षेत्र का प्रमाण निकालने के लिये १ मुहूर्त की गति को (सूर्य की) दिनमान के अर्धभाग से गुणा करने पर जो लब्धि आये वह दृष्टिपथ क्षेत्र का प्रमाण जानना चाहिये। - सूत्र २३

___जब सूर्य सर्वाभ्यंतर मंडल में वर्तमान होता है तब जंबूद्वीप के कल्पित पांच चक्रवाल में से डेढ भाग प्रकाशित करता है और एक भाग अप्रकाशित होता है।
जम्बूद्वीप में वर्तमान दोनों सूर्य की अपेक्षा पांच चक्रवाल में से तीन भाग प्रकाशित करते हैं और दो भाग अप्रकाशित होते हैं । अर्थात् जम्बूद्वीप के कल्पित पांच भाग में से तीन भाग दिन होता है और दो भाग रात्रि होती है।
___ जम्बूद्वीप के ३६६ भाग की कल्पना करने पर १ भाग (चक्रवाल) के ७३२ भाग होते हैं , ३ चक्रवाल के २१९६ भाग होते हैं । अर्थात् ३६६० भाग में से २१९६ भाग का दिवस होता है १४६४ भाग रात्रि होती है, अथवा दोनों सूर्य ६० मुहूर्त में १ मंडल की परिक्रमा पूर्ण करते हैं । जम्बूद्वीप के ५ चक्रवाल की कल्पना करने पर १ चक्रवाल १२ मुहूर्तात्मक होता है । १२ मुहूर्त का काल जम्बूद्वीप के ३६६० भाग की कल्पना में ७३२ भागात्मक होता है।
सर्वाभ्यंतर मंडल से सूर्य जब सर्वबाह्यमंडल की ओर गमन करता है तब प्रतिमंडल में अहोरात्र में २। ६१ भाग हानि-वृद्धि होती है।
. सर्वाभ्यंतरमंडल को कम करने पर सर्वबाह्यमंडल १८३ वां आता है। जिससे १८३४२ करने पर ३६६/६१ भाग की हानि-वृद्धि अहोरात्र में होती है। अर्थात् ६ मुहूर्त दिवस में हानि और रात्रि में वृद्धि होती है । दोनों सूर्य की अपेक्षा १२ मुहूर्त की हानि वृद्धि होती है। सर्वबाह्यमंडल में सूर्य एक भाग प्रकाशित करता है और डेढ़ भाग अप्रकाशित रहता है।
पूर्व में बताये गये अनुसार एक-एक सूर्य की अपेक्षा १ भाग दिवस और डेढ़ भाग रात्रि रहती है। दोनों सूर्य की अपेक्षा २ भाग दिवस और ३ भाग रात्रि होती है।
