## Loss and Gain in the Magnitude of Muhurta: Magnitude of Muhurta in a Nakshatra Masa
There are 1830 days and nights in a Yuga. There are 67 Nakshatra Masas in a Yuga. Dividing the number of days in a Yuga by the number of Nakshatra Masas in a Yuga (1830 / 67) gives us 27 days and 21/67 Muhurtas. This is calculated as follows:
67) 1830 (27
134
490
469
21
21/67
To convert this into Muhurtas, we multiply by 30, which gives us 21430 = 630. Dividing this by 67 (630:67) gives us 9 Muhurtas and 27/67 parts. Therefore, a Nakshatra Masa is equal to 27 days, 9 Muhurtas and 27/67 parts.
Multiplying 27 by 30 to convert it into Muhurtas gives us 27 x 30 = 810. Adding 9 to this gives us 819. Therefore, the number of Muhurtas in a Nakshatra Masa is 819 and 27/67.
## Number of Muhurtas in a Surya Masa
There are 1830 days in a Yuga and 60 Surya Masas in a Yuga. To calculate the number of days in a Surya Masa, we divide 1830 by 60, which gives us 30 days and 30/60. To convert this into Muhurtas, we multiply the number of days in a Surya Masa by 30, which gives us 30 x 30 = 900. Multiplying 30/60 by 30 gives us 30 x 30 / 60 = 15 Muhurtas. Adding this to 900 gives us 915 Muhurtas. Therefore, the number of Muhurtas in a Surya Masa is 915.
## Number of Muhurtas in a Chandra Masa
There are 62 Chandra Masas in a Yuga and 1830 days in a Yuga. To calculate the number of days in a Chandra Masa, we divide 1830 by 62, which gives us 29 days and 32/62. To convert this into Muhurtas, we multiply by 30, which gives us 29 x 30 = 870. Multiplying 32/62 by 30 gives us 960/62, which is equal to 15 Muhurtas and 30/62 parts.
