[Surya Prajnapti Sutra]
Q. What is the path of the moon in half a lunar month?
A. It travels half a circle, 77 parts of half a circle, 31 parts and 9 parts. When the moon exits from the last part of the Uttarayana, it travels 7 parts and 4 parts of the other's circle, 7 parts and 13 parts of its own circle. When the moon exits from the last part of the Dakshinayana, it travels 6 parts and 4 parts of the other's circle, 6 parts and 13 parts of its own circle. The remaining 2 parts and 13 parts of the moon travel in an unusual way, self-illuminated.
Q. How do these 2 parts and 13 parts of the moon travel in an unusual way, self-illuminated?
A. These 2 parts and 13 parts of the moon travel in an unusual way, self-illuminated, in two ways: 1. Within the entire circle, 2. Outside the entire circle. These 2 parts and 13 parts of the moon travel in an unusual way, self-illuminated, in these two ways.
